Duties and Responsibilities
The Client Service Representative plays a key role in the hospital's success, as his/her immediate interaction with customers impacts revenue, repeat visits, and satisfaction. While this position does not have any clinical duties, the CSR will work hand-in-hand with Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, Hospital Managers, Regional Directors, and Kennel teams. The CSR is the pivot around which the hospital operates and is responsible for:
•Customer service functions, including: greeting visitors, answering telephones, and guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms.
•Scheduling and confirming appointments.
•Placing outbound calls for follow-ups and reaching out to prospective clients.
•Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments.
•Recommending, selecting, and obtaining products and services, including prescriptions.
•Answering questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care (i.e., heartworm prevention, housebreaking, and flea & tick control).
•Managing medical records, charts, reports and correspondence.
•Hospital maintenance (including removal of animal waste) and ensuring that facility is neat and clean at all times—both inside and outside.

Job Description:
The Neurology Nurse will work primarily with the Veterinary Neurologist to provide general care to all neurology patients. The primary responsibilities of the neurology nurse include providing a high level of patient care while assisting with outpatient examinations, neurosurgery, diagnostics and monitoring. The neurology nurse will be responsible for providing anesthesia for a variety of procedures and should possess a fundamental knowledge of anesthesia. The neurology nurse will be cross-trained in the CT and MRI environment. Extensive client interaction and communication is required along with assisting the clinician in the maintenance of the medical record.
The Neurology Nurse is responsible for providing the highest quality anesthetic monitoring care for patients undergoing a variety of neurosurgery and sedated procedures. The Neurology Nurse will anesthetize and provide complete patient care throughout the entire anesthetic procedure and must have the ability to recognize when problems arise and take appropriate action. We are willing to train the right candidate if they have limited anesthesia experience, assuming they show great interest in neurology and anesthesia.
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Assist with outpatient appointments. Safely handle and restrain patients, focusing on low-stress handling. Fill medications, obtain blood samples, etc.
• Patient care including assessments (TPR, auscultation, temperature, etc), monitoring, treatments and diagnostics. Recognize change in patient status and inform clinician in a timely manner.
• Admit and discharge patients for procedures. Be familiar with generating estimates/consents forms. Clearly and effectively communicate discharge instructions to owners.
• Provide anesthesia and monitoring for a variety of procedures and diagnostics. Proficient with using and troubleshooting (or willing to learn) an anesthesia ventilator.
• Enter charges into Workflow for outpatient appointments and procedures.
• Assist with maintaining the medical record under clinician’s supervision.
• Maintain procedure room and neurology equipment. Stocks, organizes, cleans and maintains equipment on a regular basis.
• Setup, cleanup and assist with procedures.
• Assists clinician with client communication (replying to telephone and email messages via Workflow).
• Strong technical skills including but not limited to: venipuncture, IV catheter placement, drug calculations (including CRIs), running in-house labwork, sending specimens to outside laboratory, taking diagnostic quality radiographs and administering medications (PO, SC, IM, IV).
• Cross trains with the emergency service and participates in covering holidays.
• Participates in the neurology on-call pool, with at least 1 on-call shift per week and at least 1 weekend per month.
• Advocates for the patient.
• Able to correctly obtain a pain score based on Colorado State Pain Scale.
Requirements: 2-3 years veterinary experience in a specialty/referral hospital or 3-5 years in general practice preferred. CVT or able to obtain licensure within 6 months.
