Hiring Licensed Veterinary Technician

We are looking for an experienced licensed technician but willing to train a new grad that wants to stay in the area. We are open Tuesday – Friday 8 – 5 and Saturdays 10-3. Hours would be 7:40 till about 5:15 T-F. There would be no Saturday work except for fill in once in a while. We are a clinic, not a hospital and therefore, DO NOT hospitalize patients. We rarely work past 5:15. As of right now, we are not open on Mondays but that will likely change in the foreseeable future.

I am looking for a technician that is competent in performing dentals, including extractions. Someone that is able to put in catheters, figure out simple drug dosages, start IV fluid lines and foremost is FRIENDLY. We have a very friendly staff that work well together and we are complimented on that quite regularly.

We routinely do anywhere from 10-15 surgeries in the morning mostly spay/neuter, growth removals and dentals. What somewhat complicates our business, or should I say, what makes it unpredictable is that we are a “walk-in” clinic for spays and neuters, vaccinations, nail trims, microchips and we do take walk in exams and there can be several in a day.

We are a lower cost clinic and do not have an xray machine or blood machine at the clinic. We send our blood off daily and get the results the next day and we send our clients to a local clinic to have their pets radiographed.

We also have a few avenues to help clients on limited budgets. Our clinic gives away about $1,000 a month and we have a donation jar up front and clients keep it full.

If possible, a working interview might be helpful for both the employer and employee.
