Veterinary Emergency Service & Veterinary Specialty Center is an established 24-hour veterinary facility with three locations in Middleton, Madison, and Janesville, WI. We take pride in providing services in emergency, critical care, surgery, oncology, internal medicine, as well as other advanced service patient care for companion animals and the people who love them. We are seeking an energetic and compassionate CVT to join our team with openings in ER, surgery and internal medicine departments. The individual filling this role will serve as a major support to our veterinarians with the opportunity to learn and grow from a multitude of specialty doctors and staff. They will apply both professional and practical knowledge of hospital procedures, policies and services, as well as patient treatment protocols and exceptional patient care.
To be successful in this role, you will need the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
o Wisconsin license required.
o Strong and compassionate customer service skills with both clients and coworkers.
o Ability to pay attention to detail and stay focused while multitasking; strong organizational skills.
o Compassion for animals including demonstrated interest in caring for, promoting the health of, and fostering the contentment of animals.
o Maintain accurate medical records and familiarity with medical nomenclature used in a veterinary hospital.
o Previous experience in a specialty or emergency care environment is preferred.

VCA Veterinary Care Animal Hospital and Referral Center is seeking a veterinary technician (VTS preferred) to facilitate development and technical skills of all nursing staff within our hospital. The nursing development technician will actively promote exceptional patient care through the implementation of training protocols, hands-on advancement of nursing skills, and feedback of progress to technicians and assistants in all departments.
- Facilitate staff training for all technicians and assistants within the hospital.
- Direct all new hire training and orientation for technicians/assistants.
- Work with team leaders to develop and implement training programs for each department within the hospital. This includes documenting and providing feedback to staff based on their progress.
- Promote the highest level of patient care through education of staff.
- Cultivate effective working relationships between technicians/assistants and other hospital staff, as well as clinicians.
- Partner with VCA-wide trainers to promote and implement programs dedicated to the training and retention of technicians/assistants.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a veterinary specialty setting with some responsibility in the training or supervision of technical staff
- Proficiency in multiple areas of veterinary medicine with ability to teach advanced skills
- Certified, Licensed or Registered Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT or RVT) status required
- Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) strongly preferred

VCA Veterinary Care Animal Hospital and Referral Center (VCA Vet Care) is a busy and continually growing general and specialty practice located in beautiful Albuquerque, NM. Our 24,000 square foot hospital provides a comprehensive intensive care unit staffed around the clock, diagnostic tools such as a helical CT scan and fluoroscopy, and advanced medical procedures such as I-131 radiation, interventional radiology, and cataract surgery. VCA Vet Care currently has 5 highly experienced general practitioners, 2 emergency clinicians, and the following board certified specialists: 1 criticalist, 2 internists, 2 oncologists, 2 ophthalmologists, and 3 surgeons. We also currently have eight rotating interns as well as three specialty interns. Our hospital is AHAA certified and is a gold certified Feline Friendly Practice.
VCA Vet Care has plans to expand to a state of the art facility. This facility will include first-class treatment areas, surgical suites, intensive care unit, and added imaging modalities such as MRI, radiation oncology, and 128 slice CT scan.
